Galatasaray plot summer move for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos

Galatasaray want to sign Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos, reports Edinburgh News journalist Barry Anderson.

The Colombian is out of contract at the end of the season and is expected to leave the Scottish Premiership club.

Gala are one of the clubs interested in Morelos and they have contacted his representatives.

The Super Lig club have been constantly linked with the 26-year-old.

They will finally get a chance to land him in the summer as he is unexpected to extend his contract with Rangers.

Meetings between Galatasaray and Morelos’ representatives are expected to take place in the next few weeks.

The South American has been with the Light Blues since 2017.

He has bagged 122 goals in 262 games and will go down in Rangers’ history as a club hero.

Morelos played a huge role in helping Rangers land the Scottish Premiership title in 2021.

It was their 55th title and their first in a decade, and the striker bagged 12 league goals.

Gers manager Micheal Beale has relied more on Croatian striker Antonio-Mirko Colak this term.

It is safe to say the Ibrox club are preparing for life without Morelos.

Major squad changes are expected at the club this summer, including the recruitment of a new striker.

The former HJK Helsinki hitman is not the only player set to leave Rangers at the end of the season.

Ryan Kent, Scott Arfield, Ryan Jack and Steven Davis are all out of contract too.

They are all likely to leave, and the Light Blues must get their recruitment right ahead of next season.
