Leeds United star Tyler Adams assessed by specialist after hamstring strain

Leeds United manager Javi Gracia has revealed that Tyler Adams has seen a specialist after straining his hamstring.

The 24-year-old injured himself in training this week. He has not joined up with the United States for international duty.

Adams will also miss Saturday’s Premier League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The American will remain at Thorp Arch for further assessment, and Leeds will hope his injury is not serious.

The US face Grenada and El Salvador in the CONCACAF Nations League during the international break.

They will have to play both games without their captain. However, Adams’ international and club teammates Brenden Aaronson and Weston McKennie have been called up.

Leeds are fighting for survival and cannot afford to be without the former RB Leipzig star.

Adams has missed just two of the 26 Premier League games the Whites have played this term.

They are 19th in the table, with a point between them and safety.

Weekend’s game is a six-pointer the Elland Road club will be desperate to win.

Victory will take them out of the drop zone, which would put their minds to rest heading into the break.

Leeds resume action in April against leaders Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

It is the first of the seven league fixtures they have in the month, and their fate will be decided by those results.

Gracia needs all his best players available for the crucial run-in and will hope Adams is back before the Arsenal game.
