Napoli have extended midfielder Stanislav Lobotka’s contract until 2027 with an option for another year.
The Partenopei had an agreement in place with the Slovakian midfielder over a renewal and have now made it official.
According to the club’s official website, the 28-year-old’s previous deal was due to expire in 2025 but he has agreed new terms.
Lobotka has been with Napoli since 2020 but has grown in stature this season, establishing himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe.
He has made 36 appearances in all competitions, helping the Partenopei dominate on all fronts this season.
Real Madrid were showing interest in the former Celta Vigo star, but Napoli have tied him to a new deal.
Lobotka has a huge role to play, with Napoli currently 18 points clear at the top of Serie A and one step away from reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Elsewhere, speculation continues to circulate over the futures of Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskheli.
Osimhen has made a strong case for being one of the best strikers in Europe with his rich vein of scoring form.
Kvaratskhelia has set the Serie A alight in his debut season, such that comparisons have been drawn with Diego Maradona.
Both attackers are courting interest from Europe’s elite clubs, and it will be interesting to see whether the duo will stay with Napoli beyond the summer.
