Sergio Ramos awaits renewal offer from Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain defender Sergio Ramos has entered the final few months of his contract and his future is up in the air following the club’s elimination from the Champions League.

The Spanish defender joined as a free agent from Real Madrid in 2021 but spent his debut season mostly on the sidelines with injury issues.

However, he has become an indisputable starter for Christophe Galtier’s side this season, making 36 appearances in all competitions, including the defeat against Bayern Munich in the round of 16 last week.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Les Parisiens have not commenced renewal talks with Ramos yet but could hand him a one-year extension on lower terms.

The former Los Blancos legend is among the highest earners at the French capital, pocketing €10 million a season for his two-year contract.

However, he may not continue on the same wages due to his age and the Champions League debacle.

PSG haven’t made a concrete decision regarding Ramos, as they may go for an overhaul in the summer.

Milan Skriniar is set to arrive on a free transfer from Inter Milan, which could impact Ramos’ place in the squad.

Saudi Arabian giants Al Nassr- who have been targeting high-profile signings – and Major League Soccer outfit Inter Miami are touted as possible destinations for the Spaniard.

Talks with Lionel Messi over a renewal are pending, with the Argentine’s current deal expiring in the summer, although PSG have the option to extend his stay for another year.
