Real Madrid planning €140m bid for priority target Jude Bellingham

Speculation has been mounting in recent weeks that Real Madrid are leading the race for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

The English midfielder has witnessed stratospheric growth in just two years at Dortmund, establishing himself as one of the best young midfielders in Europe.

Although Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool are battling for his signature, Madrid have taken constructive steps in his pursuit.

As per the latest report from Diario AS, Los Blancos have sent their representatives to Germany to meet with Bellingham’s entourage and discuss a potential move in the summer.

The Spanish capital giants also see this as a great opportunity to strengthen their relationship with the player’s entourage, which could be instrumental in his transfer.

The report also adds that Los Merengues are willing to offer around €140 million (€100m plus €40m in bonuses) to Dortmund, which is much closer to his €150m valuation.

However, it is also understood that everything is far from over, as Liverpool will not give up on Bellingham and will provide tough competition for the reigning European champions.

The Reds’ most pressing issue is their midfield, and they have identified the 19-year-old as their priority target.

However, Madrid want the English prodigy as their next Galactico signing, with the Luka Modric and Toni Kroos era nearing an end.

Both the veteran midfielders are out of contract in the summer, and there is no significant progress over their renewal talks.

The feeling is that one of them might leave Santiago Bernabeu to make room for Bellingham’s arrival.

Los Blancos splashed out around €80m for Aurelien Tchouameni from AS Monaco last summer when he was in demand and wanted by a host of top clubs, including Liverpool.

They are now looking to spend a fortune again for Bellingham, who may well become Madrid’s most expensive signing in their history.
