Marcus Rashford wins the Premier League Player of the Month award for February 2023

Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford has received the Premier League Player of the Month award for February.

Rashford equals the Premier League record for most POTM prizes in a single season. He is level with Mohamed Salah, who won three in 2017/18.

The United forward also won the award in September and January. It is the fourth overall EPL MOTM win of his career and only six players have more.

The 25-year-old has netted 26 goals and seven assists this season. Rashford has helped United win the Carabao Cup and is a massive part of why they are third in the league.

He has already broken his record of goals for Man United in a single campaign.

The England international was part of England’s 2022 World Cup campaign, scoring three goals. Many people feel manager Gareth Southgate should have used him more.

This award is Rashford’s second accolade for his February performances after winning United’s Player of the Month prize.

He beat Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho, Fulham’s Bernd Leno and Manor Solomon, Tottenham Hotspur’s Emerson Royal and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins to the PL award.

Rashford scored five Premier League goals in February, netting in every league appearance he made.

Reporters recently asked Rashford why he has outscored his past two seasons total combined. He put it down to complete a full pre-season under manager Erik ten Hag.

Speaking of the Dutchman, he won the Premier League Manager of the Month award. It is his second win of the season.

Ten Hag did not lose any league games in February. The former Ajax box steered the club to their first trophy in six years as they won the Carabao Cup.

They are still in the FA Cup and yesterday put one foot into the quarter-finals of the Europa League with a 4-1 win over Real Betis at Old Trafford.
