Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Napoli forward Victor Osimhen this summer, according to L’Equipe.
Sporting director Luis Campos brought the striker to LOSC Lille in 2019 from Charleroi. He exploded in France before earning a move to Italy a year later.
Campos is keen on bringing Osimhen to Parc des Princes. He is the type of hungry attacker the club has been crying out for.
PSG crashed out of the Champions League in the round of 16 following their loss to Bayern Munich yesterday.
Les Parisiens are angry about the loss and have started planning for an overhaul in the summer transfer window.
PSG have already met with Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, to discuss a potential summer move.
However, a move for the Nigerian international will be difficult. The player already has his sights set on a move to the Premier League with Chelsea and Manchester United interested.
There is the also issue of Financial Fair Play (FFP). PSG have breached rules and received a €65 million fine this season.
PSG agreed with the European football authority to reduce their deficit over three years. They will have to sell players to avoid more sanctions.
They will raise eyebrows if they meet the €140m asking price that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis set for Osimhen.
The Ligue 1 table-toppers also want Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese star is seeking a new adventure and could find it in Paris.
Campos brought Silva to AS Monaco from Benfica and wants to reunite with him.
PSG hired Campos this summer to convince Kylian Mbappe about the seriousness of their project. They want to build a competitive squad around the World Cup-winning attacker.
These transfer moves could mean that one or both Neymar and Lionel Messi leave the club this summer.
