Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana is on Aston Villa’s list to replace Emiliano Martinez if he leaves, according to Italian source Calcio Mercato Web.
Martinez arrived at Aston Villa in 2020, off the back of a breakthrough season with Arsenal.
In his first season at Villa Park, he was named the club’s Player of the Season and finished third in the race for the Golden Glove behind Ederson and Edouard Mendy.

This form earned him his debut for the Argentina national team. In 2021, he helped La Albiceleste to glory in the Copa America, starting six of seven games and keeping four clean sheets.
And in the following year, he went one step further and won the World Cup. The 30-year-old was an ever-present for Lionel Scaloni’s men, keeping three clean sheets and saving three penalties across two shoot-outs. Shortly after the tournament, he was named The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper for 2022.
Reports suggest that Martinez could be ready to move on from Aston Villa in the summer. The Midlands club are believed to be willing to listen to offers for their number one, although they are not eager to sell.
Should he leave, a replacement will be needed. According to Calcio Mercato Web, Inter Milan’s Andre Onana is on their wish list.
The Cameroonian came to the San Siro last summer with the intention of being the club’s long-term replacement for veteran goalkeeper Samir Handanovic. He has made 26 appearances for the Nerazzurri in all competitions, keeping 13 clean sheets.

Before his move to Italy, Onana spent six years in Ajax’s first team. In that time, he made 214 appearances, contributing to five domestic trophies while reaching a Europa League final and a Champions League semi-final.
And he’s not the only Inter Milan player who could be on the way to Aston Villa. Calcio Mercato Web also claims that right-back Denzel Dumfries is being eyed up by the Villans. It is believed that a double deal would cost the Premier League outfit over €60 million.
