Why this Chelsea midfielder would be perfect for Liverpool

Mason Mount of Chelsea during the Premier League match between Chelsea FC and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on October 22, 2022 in London, England.

There haven’t been many positives for Liverpool this season, with the team struggling to produce their best form throughout the campaign.

They are off the pace in the Premier League, while their hopes of winning the Champions League appear to be over after a recent mauling by Real Madrid.

They have consistently struggled to perform in the Premier League and are in danger of missing Champions League football for next season.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were thrashed 5-2 by Madrid in the first leg of their last 16 tie at Anfield. They now face a mountainous task to progress to the quarter-finals.

However, a good run of form in the English top-flight could still salvage their season as they can pip Tottenham Hotspur for fourth place.

Regardless of where they finish in the Premier League, the Reds must overhaul their midfield in the summer transfer window.

Fabinho is struggling for form, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and James Milner will all be free agents at the end of the season.

The Reds will also not activate the buy option attached to Arthur Melo’s loan deal, which means they must sign at least two midfielders.

Chelsea star Mason Mount would be perfect for the Merseyside club. The 24-year-old’s contract at Stamford Bridge expires in 2024, and he is yet to agree a new deal.

If the two parties fail to strike an agreement, the England international could be available.

Mount is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, and any team would love to have him in their squad.

The Chelsea academy graduate rose through the club’s ranks to make his first-team breakthrough in August 2019.

He has since established himself as one of the key members in the squad, making more than 190 senior appearances for the club.

Mount was part of the Chelsea side that won the 2021 Champions League trophy and was also named the club’s player of the year for two consecutive seasons.

The English footballer can play as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder and left midfielder. He is highly rated for his long shots, key passes and tackling ability.

Mount has the distinction of representing England at two major tournaments and would be an excellent signing for Liverpool.
