Christophe Galtier confirms Neymar will miss PSG vs Bayern Munich UCL second leg

Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier has announced that Neymar will miss the second leg of their Champions League tie with Bayern Munich.

The Brazil international was stretchered off against Lille on February 19.

Neymar has not played since picking up the injury and will be unavailable in the return leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie.

PSG lost 1-0 in the first leg last month as Kingsley Coman’s 57th-minute strike condemned them to a deserved defeat.

They will look to turn the tie around at the Allianz Arena, but Neymar’s unavailability is a blow.

The 31-year-old was trying to speed up his recovery process to be available for the game.

However, that will be impossible and the Ligue 1 club will have to win without him.

The injury blow could be a blessing in disguise for PSG. Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe often struggle to gel when playing against a top side.

The trio do next to little defensive work and Bayern capitalised on that at the Parc des Princes.

Les Parisiens strolled to a comfortable 3-0 win over Marseille in their next game after the 4-3 victory against Lille.

They face Nantes tomorrow and Galtier will use the game to prepare for their crunch Champions League match.

Messi and Mbappe ran the show last time out and may not need Neymar against Bayern Munich.

Galtier’s job is on the line due to his side’s struggles, and elimination on Wednesday at the Allianz Arena could be the final straw.
