Raheem Sterling set to stay at Chelsea despite Premier League interest

Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling will stay at the club this summer despite rumours of interest from Arsenal, according to talkSPORT.

There will be no reviews regarding his one-year stay at the club. The Blues are impressed with the player’s shape and determination since recovering from his injury.

There were rumours that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta wants to sign Sterling. The Spaniard knows him from their time together at Manchester City.

However, Sterling will stay at Chelsea and fight for his place at the club despite the adversities they have faced this season.

Chelsea are tenth in the Premier League despite spending almost £600 million on new signings in the last two transfer windows.

They are 14 points behind London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in fourth. Spurs beat them 2-0 in their last game to establish the current gap.

Champions League qualification looks impossible with 14 games to play. They have lost their last three games, with their last win dating back to mid-January.

Chelsea manager Graham Potter is under pressure to turn things around. Despite retaining the support of the club’s owners, the fans want him gone.

Potter reportedly has the next two matches to turn things around. They face Leeds United and Borussia Dortmund, and they will be make-or-break games for him.

As for Sterling, his performances have not been bad despite failing to replicate his best form for Chelsea.

He has scored four goals and assisted two in 18 league appearances. He has also bagged two goals and an assist in six Champions League games.

While his numbers are not overly impressive, Chelsea’s poor attacking showings have limited Sterling. He hopes he can help turn the club’s fortunes can turn around.

The Blues will rely on him with Hakim Ziyech and Mykhailo Mudryk consistently underperforming and Noni Madueke still adapting.
