Man United sweating over Marcus Rashford’s fitness ahead of Carabao Cup final vs Newcastle

Manchester United could be without Marcus Rashford for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United.

The England international striker picked up a knock in the Europa League win over Barcelona last night.

Rashford initially went down hurt in the first half at Old Trafford but continued to play.

The 25-year-old was later withdrawn with two minutes left on the clock. He walked off down the touchline with his left boot off.

Man United manager Erik ten Hag revealed on Friday that Rashford will undergo tests to determine his availability.

The striker posted a worrying update on his Instagram account last night.

The Red Devils would be dealt a massive blow if Rashford misses the game.

The club are searching for their first trophy since 2017 and his absence could prove costly.

They have been drawn against Real Betis in the round of 16 of the Europa League. However, their hard-fought 2-1 victory on Thursday night may have come at a cost.

Rashford has scored 24 goals and claimed six assists for Man United this term.

Newcastle will be happy if he is ruled out of the final. The Magpies have been handed multiple injury boosts ahead of Sunday’s game.

The north-east outfit are looking to win major silverware for the first time since 1955.

Man United being without Rashford is a boost for them. Stopping the Red Devils academy graduate has proven tricky for opposition defenders.

Ten Hag needs a miracle and will hope Rashford recovers in the coming hours.
