Stade Rennais starlet Andy Diouf is a wanted man in the Premier League and Bundesliga with several clubs keen on his signature, according to Foot Mercato.
The 19-year-old central midfielder is currently on loan to Swiss club Basel, where he has put himself on the radar of several European clubs with his eye-catching performances.
The France Under-20 international joined Basel last summer but has wasted no time establishing himself in the first team set-up.
Diouf has enjoyed a breakout season after featuring 34 times for the former Swiss champions, chipping in with two goals and three assists.
The Frenchman came up through the youth ranks at Rennes before joining Basel on loan after failing to break into the first team.
However, following his impressive displays in Switzerland, the French side could yet rue their decision to add a buy option in the loan deal.
Basel are ready to exercise the buy option but will have to move fast with several other clubs monitoring the youngster’s development.
However, their chances of snapping up the youngster on a permanent transfer could be boosted by the player’s agent Alfonso Stellittano who claims his client is in the ‘perfect place’ to develop.
“Andy is very happy in Switzerland,” Stellittano said. “He is flourishing and has absolutely no regrets about his choice.
“FC Basel is a very big club, and it’s the perfect place to progress and show off.”
The other clubs interested in the youngster are unnamed, but it is understood that German champions Bayern Munich are among the clubs monitoring Diouf’s development.
The Bavarians have a knack for snapping up some of the world’s youngest talents and have already done business with Rennes when they signed 17-year-old Mathys Tel last summer.
