La Liga file complaints as racist is identified after abusing Vinicius and Chukwueze

La Liga have filed two complaints after someone racially abusing Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior and Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze was identified.

Vinicius suffered racist abuse against Mallorca on February 5, while Chukwueze suffered similar abuse against the same club 13 days later.

Mallorca’s director of security has identified the person responsible for both cases and the police have taken their statement.

Racial slurs aimed at players were previously directed to the Anti-Violence Commission.

However, La Liga have taken matters into their hands in recent months by going directly to the courts.

The Spanish top flight have lodged the two complaints with the Courts of Instruction in Palma de Mallorca.

La Liga also filed another complaint to the Pamplona court. The Madrid star was subjected to racist abuse during the game against Osasuna last Saturday.

Vinicius had complained that La Liga were doing nothing to protect him after Real Valladolid fans abused him last December.

They have now started taking action and complaints have been filed with the relevant local courts.

Most of them were about the racist abuse Vinicius suffered. Individuals could face heavy fines and year-long stadium bans if found guilty.

Investigations will commence on the Mallorca fan accused. He has to serve a severe punishment to serve as a deterrent to others.

Racism in La Liga has been a massive issue over the years, and Vinicius has been constantly targeted by opposition fans.

The league have taken steps in the right direction with their latest efforts, and changes are bound to take place.
