Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar has come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks.
He was spotted at a poker tournament after PSG’s defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League before recently picking up a serious injury, which will rule him out of the second.
Reports have also been circulating over his potential exit in the summer, with PSG looking to move away from the Brazilian talisman and focus on younger talents.
However, a report from L’Equipe claims that the 31-year-old has no plans to leave the French capital before the expiry of his contract in 2027.
The report also adds that he is determined to be on the field for next month’s round of 16 second leg against Bayern at the Allianz Arena.
Neymar has been criticised for his off-field antics, but he always compensated with his performances on the pitch.
However, his injury-prone nature has been an issue during his career. He missed a handful of crucial games in the past through injuries, much to everyone’s disappointment.
Neymar has endured a fluctuating season this term. He was performing at the highest level until heading into the World Cup but has experienced a dip in form since the turn of the year.
He also had an eventful game against Lille last weekend, as he racked up a goal and an assist shortly before being stretchered off the field.
Neymar’s attacking partner Lionel Messi’s future is also hanging in the balance as he still has to give his nod to extending his contract, which runs out in the summer.
Les Parisiens are continuing their talks with the Argentine’s entourage over a new contract, and it remains to be seen whether they can get it done.
