Brighton & Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi has interest from several top European clubs, according to the Telegraph.
De Zerbi is doing an excellent job at Brighton, leading to interest in his services. He has picked up from where Graham Potter left off and hasn’t missed a beat.
He joined the Seagulls late last year after Potter left to join Chelsea. He has guided the club to seventh place in the Premier League and into contention for European football.
De Zerbi is reportedly an option to replace countryman Antonio Conte at Tottenham Hotspur. Conte is struggling with Spurs amid rumours of discontent.
Conte is constantly seeking reassurances from Spurs about spending in the transfer market. But his team has been inconsistent on the pitch this season.
However, it is not only Tottenham interested in De Zerbi. Clubs back home in Italy are also considering taking him back.
AC Milan, Inter Milan, AS Roma and Juventus are all looking at him as an option in case they make any coaching changes.
The Rossoneri had a torrid January that saw them drop out of the Serie A top four after losing crucial games. They also lost the Italian Super Cup final to rivals Inter. These results led to questions about Milan coach Stefano Pioli’s position.
As for Inter, tensions have been growing all season between Simone Inzaghi and the owners, but they kept faith in him. They could opt for a change in the summer.
Juventus have looked poor all season. Even in the games they won, they have looked lacklustre, leading to questions about manager Massimiliano Allegri.
Jose Mourinho, who is now unhappy at Roma, could also leave his job, giving De Zerbi another destination.
De Zerbi could return to Serie A, where he impressed with Benevento and Sassuolo, before joining Shakhtar Donetsk, where he won the Ukrainian Cup.
Brighton let Potter join Chelsea when they paid his release clause, and De Zerbi reportedly has an £11.5 million clause.
