Man United offered Atletico Madrid ace Yannick Carrasco after Christian Eriksen injury blow

Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Atletico Madrid ace Yannick Carrasco, reports the Telegraph.

Christian Eriksen is set to be out for three months after picking up an ankle injury at the weekend.

The Denmark international was withdrawn during the FA Cup win over Reading after a heavy challenge from Andy Carroll.

The Red Devils could now be forced to make a deadline-day signing in a bid to bolster their squad.

They want to sign a midfielder on loan and have been in touch with Carrasco’s representatives.

The Belgium international is expected to join Barcelona this summer. The La Liga club have a non-mandatory buy option to sign him as part of the deal to let Memphis Depay join Atletico.

United only want Carrasco on loan until the end of the season and are hoping a deal can be done.

They have already contacted Atletico, Barca, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in a bid to sign a player to cover for Eriksen.

Carrasco has been constantly linked with a move to the Premier League.

The 29-year-old is primarily a left winger, and whether he will fit into manager Erik ten Hag’s plans is unknown.

Eriksen has played through the middle for most of his career, and losing him could derail United’s campaign.

He has scored two goals and claimed nine assists in 31 games across all competitions this term.

The Dane’s huge impact has given United a rich vein of form that has seen them become strong top-four contenders.

Carrasco has netted four goals and an assist in 26 games for Atletico this term.

He could flourish in the final third in a more attacking team, but whether the Red Devils can get their man remains to be seen.
