Barcelona are inching closer to signing LA Galaxy right-back Julian Araujo, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
Manager Xavi has revealed that Hector Bellerin has asked to leave for Sporting Lisbon.
The Spaniard is expected to join the Portuguese top-flight club as a replacement for Tottenham Hotspur-bound Pedro Porro.

The 21-year-old Mexico international has already agreed personal terms with the La Liga club.
Barcelona and LA Galaxy are also close to an agreement ahead of the 11 pm transfer deadline.
Araujo ended the last Major League Soccer season with a goal and five assists in 35 games.
He was also in fine form in 2021, weighing in with six assists in 32 MLS appearances.
Araujo’s exploits saw him make the MLS All-Star team in 2021 and 2022.
He is a highly technical player who should not find it difficult to adapt to life in the Spanish top flight.
The Mexican is a brilliant tackler, and his passing and interception abilities are also top-notch.
He could struggle for regular playing chances at Camp Nou given the plethora of options available at right-back.
Centre-back duo Jules Kounde and Ronald Araujo have been deployed there this term.
Versatile full-back Alejandro Balde has also featured there and veteran right-back Sergi Roberto remains available.
Nevertheless, Araujo has the potential to become a key player for Barca going forward.
He has been one of the most exciting talents in the MLS for a while. Both parties will be keen to get a deal done, and no complications are expected.
