Everton table offer for €30m Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana

Everton have made a verbal offer for Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana, according to The Athletic.

The Toffees contacted the French top-flight club on Sunday, but they are yet to get a reply.

Rennes want around €30 million to sell the 20-year-old Ghana international.

Everton want to reinvest some of the £40m they got from Newcastle United after selling Anthony Gordon. They are keen on a like-for-like replacement.

The Merseyside club are expected to confirm the appointment of Sean Dyche as their new manager pretty soon.

The former Burnley boss will have approved Everton’s bid for the Rennes star.

Sulemana has started four games across all competitions for the Ligue 1 club this term, coming off the bench 14 times. He has netted a goal and two assists.

The attacker ended last term with four goals and two assists in 20 league games.

His numbers are not mind-blowing, but he could light up Goodison Park.

Sulemana is an excellent dribbler and finisher, and those qualities would get Everton fans on their feet.

However, survival is the most important thing for the club right now.

They need someone capable of consistently coming up with the goods in the final third.

The Ghanaian forward would be keen to prove himself in England if he joins the Blues. The Toffees might need to meet Rennes’ demands to land their man.

Everton are 19th in the Premier League after 20 games, with two points between them and safety.
