Everton plot deadline-day bid for Union Berlin forward Sheraldo Becker

Everton are keen on Union Berlin winger Sheraldo Becker, reports Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The Toffees want a replacement for Anthony Gordon and have enquired about the 27-year-old Suriname international.

Everton plan to table an official bid for Becker’s signature tomorrow.

Berlin would love to hold on to the Dutchman until the end of the season, but he is open to moving to the English top flight.

The January transfer window ends on Tuesday night, and clubs are scrambling to get deals done.

Becker has bagged eight goals and five assists in 25 games across all competitions for the Bundesliga club this term.

He netted seven league goals and claimed 11 assists during his first three seasons at the club.

The former ADO Den Haag star has played mainly as a striker this term, and Everton could do with his versatility.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is struggling in front of goal this term, and Becker could be an answer to their woes.

The Goodison Park club have scored just 15 league goals this term and will need to improve significantly to stay up.

New manager Sean Dyche has been tasked with that mission, and he needs quality additions.

Becker fits the bill, but whether there is enough time to get the deal over the line is anyone’s guess.

Everton will also need to bring an irresistible offer to the table to boost their chances.

They are yet to make any signings this month, and there is not much time left.

Getting Becker or another top forward tomorrow could make all the difference in their race for survival.
