Rangers have submitted a bid in the region of £2 million for Swansea City attacker Morgan Whittaker, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Championship club has already rejected two bids from the Scottish Premiership club.
Whittaker is currently on loan at League One outfit Plymouth Argyle.
The 22-year-old Englishman is open to joining Rangers, but Swansea are playing hardball and it is unclear if they will accept the Light Blues’ latest offer.
Rangers have already snapped up Todd Cantwell from Norwich City, but manager Michael Beale still wants more new signings.
The 24-year-old plays primarily on the left wing, and Whittaker plays behind the striker and sometimes on the right.
He has played 25 league games this term, scoring nine goals and claiming seven assists.
The youngster scored three goals in as many Carabao Cup appearances for Swansea last season.
He also bagged five league goals and an assist while on loan at Lincoln City during the second half of last term.
Whittaker knows one or two things about finding the back of the net, and Rangers want him.
He was named the League One Player of the Month last September and has continued to shine.
The Gers are looking to pip Celtic to the three domestic prizes this term.
However, they are already nine points behind them in the Scottish Premiership after 22 games.
Recruiting Whittaker’s services could boost Rangers’ chances in their bid to win silverware.
Swansea have the final say, and the Ibrox club will be hoping for a positive answer.
