Denzel Dumfries’ agent in England to sell Inter Milan outcast

Denzel Dumfries’ representative Rafaela Pimenta has flown to England to discuss her client’s potential move from Inter Milan to the Premier League.

As reported by Calciomercato, Pimenta has touched down in England to hold talks with Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United amid the right-back’s bid to cut ties with the Nerazzurri.

Dumfries has barely featured for Simone Inzaghi’s side since the Serie A resumption in 2023, logging less than 90 minutes in five January fixtures, which has raised suspicion over his future.

Except for Inter’s 2-1 extra-time win over second-tier Parma in the Coppa Italia last-16 round, the Dutchman has been benched in all four league matches this calendar year.

Given the Italian’s well-documented financial turmoil, the idea of selling Dumfries to the highest bidder has come up naturally, particularly in light of Matteo Darmian’s assuring performances.

However, it’s understood that Inter won’t listen to offers under £44 million, though even a £35m bid could prove enough to get them to sanction the 26-year-old’s departure.

Unfortunately for Inter, Premier League suitors have reportedly found their asking price excessive, putting them between a rock and a hard place down the final stretch of the winter transfer window.

Tipped as the player to profit on to mend the club’s finances, Dumfries is open to leaving Giuseppe Meazza after less than two years, but time has become a significant factor.

Inter may have to lower their demands if they’re to offload the in-demand defender before next week’s January deadline, especially with Chelsea already pursuing a deal for Lyon’s Malo Gusto.

Man United and Newcastle are well-covered in the right-back position, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Kieran Trippier hitting their stride, respectively, which casts further doubt on Dumfries’ rumoured move to England.
