Crystal Palace consider bid for Antoine Semenyo

Crystal Palace are plotting a move for Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo, according to the Telegraph.

Bournemouth are also interested in Semenyo and made bids of around £8 million and £10m, but the Robins want £15m.

Palace manager Patrick Vieira is trying to bolster his forward line and has turned to Semenyo. However, the Eagles have launched a bid yet.

Semenyo scored eight goals and assisted 12 last season to help his side finish 17th in the Championship. He was City’s third top scorer in the league.

He has scored six goals and created five big chances in 23 appearances this term.

Semenyo missed most of City’s pre-season due to a shin injury he sustained on international duty. After returning, he went 17 games without a goal but has since found his best form.

He has only 18 months left on his deal, and the Robins know they will struggle to tie him down.

However, they might decide to hold out until the summer transfer window before selling one of their prized assets.

Palace have previously dipped into the Championship to make signings, snapping up Eberechi Eze, Michael Olise and Malcolm Ebiowei from the second tier.

They are keen on doing the same with Semenyo. A fee of around £15m may persuade City to sell.
