Arsenal will have to pay €100m for Mykhailo Mudryk alternative

Arsenal made Mykhaylo Mudryk their top January transfer target, but Chelsea entered the race and sensationally hijacked the Gunners’ move for the 22-year-old.

The Blues have officially announced the signing of Mudryk, who has penned an eight-and-a-half-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Recent reports have suggested Arsenal have now turned their attentions to Barcelona’s Raphinha.

However, as per Diario Sport, the Catalans want a whopping €100 million fee to allow the winger to leave.

The Brazil international spent two years at Leed United before joining Barcelona in the previous summer transfer window.

He has made 22 appearances across all competitions for Barca, netting three goals and five assists.

Raphinha transfer is very unlikely

Arsenal were interested in signing Raphinha when he was at Leeds. However, the 26-year-old preferred a move to Barcelona and ultimately joined them in a €65m deal.

The Gunners were unwilling to break the bank for Mudryk even though he was their top target in this transfer window.

The north London giants are huge admirers of Raphinha, but it looks unlikely they would be open to spending €100m to sign him this month.

They will probably look for another alternative as they strive to add another forward to their ranks, with Gabriel Jesus currently sidelined.

They need reinforcements to maintain their title push in the second half of the season.
