Atletico Madrid wantaway star Joao Felix prefers move to PSG

Joao Felix continues to be heavily linked with an exit from Atletico Madrid.

Atletico CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin recently revealed that Felix’s relationship with Diego Simeone has deteriorated, and the Portuguese star no longer wants to play for the club.

Los Rojiblancos have made it clear to the suitors that they want more than €100 million – close to the transfer fee they paid for Benfica – if they part ways with the Portuguese youngster in January or next summer.

Despite struggling for game time at the club level this season, Felix showed his class with the Portugal national team during the World Cup.

Premier League giants Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal are keeping tabs on Felix’s situation alongside Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich.

However, Paris Saint-Germain are leading the race to sign him, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Di Marzio told the Netherlands website SoccerNews: “Arsenal certainly not because he wants to play for Paris Saint-Germain.

“Atlético Madrid just don’t want to lose him at all and they are asking 130/140 million euros for him! Paris Saint-Germain would be a logical choice if he does leave Atlético.

“After all, there are not that many clubs that can afford to pay him and PSG are interested in young players for the future, so that they can absorb a departure from Mbappé or Neymar. Or so that they have a replacement when Messi’s contract expires.”

PSG’s footballing advisor Luis Campos is a big fan of Felix and sees him as a quality addition to the club’s long-term future.

Les Parisiens may view Felix as a successor to Lionel Messi, whose contract at Parc des Princes runs out at the end of this season.

The Ligue 1 giants are working on the renewal of the Argentine superstar – who will play against Kylian Mbappe’s France in the final of the Qatar World Cup – but MLS club Inter Miami are also interested in his services.
