Why Liverpool are targeting Noah Okafor in January

Liverpool are among a host of clubs interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg star Noah Okafor, according to Sky Germany

The 22-year-old has earned rave reviews with his performances in Austria this season. He has netted 10 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions, including strikes against Chelsea and AC Milan.

His current contract at the Austrian outfit expires in 2024, but he is expected to depart Salzburg with several clubs interested.

Manchester City and Milan are reportedly keen on the Switzerland international, while Arsenal and Leeds United have also been linked.

Why Liverpool are targeting Okafor

Liverpool already have several attacking options, including Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.

However, manager Jurgen Klopp has had to deal with plenty of injuries this season.

Diaz picked up a knee injury against Arsenal last month, and he is unlikely to be available until December.

Jota has mostly remained sidelined this season due to different fitness issues, with the Portuguese making only two Premier League starts.

Okafor seems to be a very attractive option for the Merseyside club. He is very young and there is plenty of room for improvement in his game.

The Swiss star mainly plays as a centre-forward but can also be used as a winger on either flank.

He could be available for around €35-40 million, which is affordable for Liverpool.

Okafor is an outstanding forward with all the attributes to succeed in the Premier League, and the Reds should do everything to sign him in January.
