Paris Saint-Germain are planning to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante on a free transfer next summer, reports BILD journalist Christian Falk.
Doubts linger over the Frenchman’s future at Stamford Bridge, with his current deal expiring in 2023.
The 31-year-old has been sidelined since August due to a hamstring injury, and he will miss the World Cup in Qatar.
The Blues haven’t opened talks over an extension, but they are reportedly planning to offer him a short-term deal considering his age and injury struggles.
Ligue 1 giants PSG are said to be keeping tabs on the former Leicester midfielder’s situation ahead of a potential free transfer next summer.
Les Parisiens revamped their midfield in the summer transfer window with the additions of Fabian Ruiz, Renato Sanches, Vitinha and Carlos Soler.
Football director Luis Campos is looking to add more solidity by signing Kante.
However, PSG could face competition from Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur for Kante’s signing, with Antonio Conte reportedly interested in a reunion with the Frenchman.
Conte wants to replicate the successful Chelsea partnership with Kante at Spurs, with the pair winning the Premier League title in the 2016/17 season.
The Blues have to sort out the future of Jorginho, who is also out of contract at Stamford Bridge next summer.
La Liga giants Barcelona are said to be keen on the Italian midfielder’s signing on a Bosman transfer next summer as they are on the lookout for a successor to Sergio Busquets.
However, Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has denied the speculation and insisted that renewing with the west Londoners is the priority.
