Napoli closing in on a new deal for Stanislav Lobotka

Napoli are on the verge of reaching an agreement with Stanislav Lobotka over a contract extension.

After struggling to make an impact over the last two seasons due to injuries, the Slovakian has become an integral part of Luciano Spalletti’s side this term.

He has made 14 appearances in all competitions, helping Napoli top Serie A and qualify for the knockout stage of the Champions League.

The Patenopei are now set to reward him with a new deal, with his current one expiring in 2025.

Sky Sport Italia reports that Lobotka will sign a new four-year deal to extend his stay until 2026 with an option for a further year. He will earn up to €5 million per season, including bonuses.

Napoli are working on contract extensions of several players, with goalkeeper Alex Meret already penning fresh terms and Giovanni Di Lorenzo the next in line.

Mario Rui and Matteo Politano could follow suit, while the Italian giants are also looking to secure Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s future.

The Georgian youngster has taken Serie A by storm this season and is considered the next big thing in Europe.

The 21-year-old has already courted interest from Liverpool, Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Spalletti’s men picked up a thrilling 3-2 win against Bologna in Serie A over the weekend to go two points clear at the top of the table.

They are one of five teams – alongside Manchester City, Real Madrid, Club Brugge and Bayern Munich – to book their place in the round of 16 of the Champions League.
