Joao Felix eyeing January exit after growing frustrated over lack of game time

Atletico Madrid star Jaoa Felix is reportedly considering an exit in January after falling down the pecking order at the club.

Los Rojiblancos spent a record €127 million on Felix in 2020, but he hasn’t quite lived up to expectations.

The Portuguese forward has failed to replicate the impressive form he showed at Benfica after struggling with injuries and inconsistency.

The situation has worsened, with Felix not included in the starting XI in the last four games.

He vented his frustration last night during the goalless draw against Club Brugge in the Champions League after Diego Simeone decided used Yannick Carrasco and Alvaro Morata ahead of him.

A report from COPE claims that Felix feels his relationship with Simeone has deteriorated and wants to leave Wanda Metropolitano after the World Cup.

Simeone spoke about Felix’s struggles before the Brugge game, stating that he completely understands the Portuguese starlet’s frustration.

Atletico’s president Enrique Cerezo also insisted that Felix has a bright future and will succeed with Los Rojiblancos.

However, Morata, Carrasco, Angel Correa, Antoine Griezmann and Matheus Cunha are all ahead of Felix at the moment.

The Portuguese prodigy has repeatedly been linked with a move to other European clubs, despite his inconsistent form.

Los Rojiblancos would demand a significant fee if he forced an exit, with his contract running until 2026.
