The draw for the Euro 2024 qualifying groups has been carried out.
The tournament – which is being held in Germany – is set to kick off on June 14, 2024. 24 teams will compete for the crown.
As hosts, Germany have already qualified automatically, and are therefore excluded from the draw. Meanwhile, Russia remain banned from international competitions.
The remaining 53 UEFA nations will be drawn into ten qualifying groups. The top two from each group will progress to the tournament.
The final three spots will be determined by a play-off based on the results of the 2022/23 UEFA Nations League. Croatia, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Scotland, Israel, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Turkey, Greece, Kazakhstan, and Georgia are all guaranteed a play-off place at the very least, having won their Nations League groups.
As they will be participating in the Nations League finals, Croatia, Spain, Italy, and Netherlands will all be drawn into smaller qualifying groups. The pots for the draw are as follows:
Nations League pot: Croatia, Spain, Italy, Netherlands.
Pot 1: Denmark, Portugal, Belgium, Switzerland, Hungary, Poland.
Pot 2: France, Austria, Czech Republic, England, Wales, Israel, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Scotland, Finland.
Pot 3: Ukraine, Iceland, Norway, Slovenia, Republic of Ireland, Albania, Montenegro, Romania, Sweden, Armenia.

Pot 5: Slovakia, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Belarus, Lithuania, Gibraltar, Estonia, Latvia, Moldova, Malta.

The biggest match-up of the draw came in Group C, with Italy and England set to face each other in a repeat of the Euro 2020 final. They were drawn alongside Ukraine – who also played England at Euro 2020 – North Macedonia, and Malta.
Netherlands and France are also due to come up against each other in Group B. Joining them is Republic of Ireland, Greece, and Gibraltar.
The first round of qualifying matches will begin in March 2023. The qualifying play-off finals are set to take place on March 26, 2024.
