Best Premier League Games to Watch in October

Premier League fixtures will be coming thick and fast between now and mid-November to accommodate the completion of the winter’s World Cup in Qatar.

As many as six matchdays will take place in October, with numerous high-profile match-ups promising a treat for neutrals and plenty of anxiety and enthusiasm to clubs supporters.

Below are the five most exciting Premier League games worth watching next month, all of which will be available online via Premier League live streams

Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur – 01/10/2022

Following the final international break ahead of the Qatar showpiece, the Premier League returns to action on October 1 as Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur go head-to-head at the Emirates Stadium.

The latest edition of the mouth-watering North London derby catches both sides amid a purple patch.

While the Gunners welcomed September’s break top of the stands, Spurs headed into a two-week hiatus as one of only two Premier League teams yet to lose a league outing this term (W5, D2).

It’s been a while since the two sides met in such circumstances, with Mikel Arteta’s seeking revenge after a 3-0 defeat in their last encounter against Tottenham condemned them to a fifth-place finish in 2021/22.

Manchester City vs Manchester United – 02/10/2022

Etihad Stadium is the venue as Manchester City and Manchester United lock horns in the 51st Premier League edition of the famous Manchester derby.

Although the Red Devils still lead the H2H stakes in the Premier League, having won 24 of their 50 previous duels against Man City (D9, L17), the roles have been reversed in recent years.

Pep Guardiola’s high-flyers brushed their cross-town rivals aside in both last season’s league clashes, claiming multi-goal margin triumphs, including an overwhelming 4-1 win in this corresponding fixture.

But after racking up a four-game winning league streak, Erik ten Hag’s leads will be hungry for vengeance on Sunday.

Arsenal vs Liverpool – 09/10/2022

Another blockbuster fixture at the Emirates pits Premier League pacesetters Arsenal against Liverpool on October 9.

While the Londoners have gone from strength to strength in 2022/23, the Reds’ busted bid to register an unprecedented quadruple last term seems to have taken its toll this season.

Parting with long-serving stalwart Sadio Mane has left its mark on Jurgen Klopp’s squad as they entered September’s international window having won just two of their opening six top-flight games (D3, L1).

Despite Liverpool’s underwhelming start to the season, the Merseysiders may still boast a psychological edge over Arsenal after keeping Arteta’s team at bay in their last six competitive H2Hs.

Liverpool vs Manchester City – 16/10/2022

Only a week after their trip to London, Liverpool will play host to back-to-back champions Man City at Anfield in a potentially season-defining fixture for Klopp’s side.

Filled with rage after the Cityzens pipped them to the Premier League crown in a heartbreaking fashion on the final matchday last season, the Reds won’t lack the motivation in this mammoth showdown.

The Anfield clash promises a spectacle for neutrals as both last season’s league contests between Liverpool and Man City yielded the identical 2-2 scoreline.

Chelsea vs Manchester United – 22/10/2022

Man Utd will make the journey to the capital to take on fierce rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in another enticing Premier League match.

The Blues’ sub-star top-flight start forced the board’s hand, with Thomas Tuchel being relieved of his duties and ex-Brighton & Hove Albion boss Graham Potter taking his place just before the international break.

With both teams heavily fancied to fight for a top-four finish until the final weekend, this encounter may determine the course of each side’s season, especially when it comes to Chelsea.
