Thomas Tuchel blasts Chelsea players after shock Champions League defeat to Dinamo Zagreb

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel hit out at his players after a shocking 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Blues headed to the Stadion Maksimir on the back of a 2-1 Premier League victory over West Ham United but fell to a disappointing defeat at the hands of Ante Čačić’s side.

Mislav Orsic scored the decisive goal in the 13th minute after outpacing new signing Wesley Fofana.

The Londoners tried to make a comeback in the game but the Croatian side held out for a narrow home victory.

Tuchel looked immensely disappointed and did not mince his words while speaking to the media after the game.

He told BT Sport: “At the moment, everything is missing, [there is] too much to analyse. I’m a part of it.

“I am angry at myself, I am angry at our performance. I didn’t see it coming.

“We need to be much better. We are not finished – we are not happy but I thought we were on a good way. I am surprised by this performance.”

Chelsea have now lost three of their last five matches across all competitions.

This is extremely poor from the London outfit considering they splashed a Premier League-record £273 million in the summer transfer window.

They forked out £70m to sign Fofana while Marc Cucurella and Raheem Sterling were signed for big money.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also arrived at Stamford Bridge on deadline day but he failed to make an impact on his debut.

The early signs are not looking very good for the Blues who are clearly struggling at the moment.

With Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur all performing well this season, Chelsea could fail to finish in the top-four by the end of the campaign.
