Europa League Group A Preview

Arsenal are big favourites to win the group, and it will be a major surprise if they fail to claim top spot.

The Gunners have made an excellent start to the new season and are strongly fancied to go a long way in this competition.

Manager Mikel Arteta has made some shrewd signings this summer, with Gabriel Jesus undoubtedly the pick of the bunch.

The former Manchester City striker has a point to prove and could cause plenty of damage in Europe this term.

Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabio Vieira are other notable additions to a squad that has been steadily improving since Arteta was appointed.

The Spaniard is eager to guide Arsenal back into the Champions League, and this competition offers him a viable route there.

While the Gunners are contenders to qualify via their league position, lifting the UEL trophy would also secure a spot in UEFA’s top club competition.

Arsenal look nailed on to reach the knockout stage, with PSV Eindhoven their most realistic threat to finishing top of the group.

However, the Dutch side were dumped out of the Champions League by Rangers, and Arsenal will fancy their chances of fending them off.

Zurich and Bodo/Glimt will probably put up stiff resistance in their home games, but neither are expected to trouble the big two in the group.
