Trevoh Chalobah is set to stay at Chelsea this summer amid interest from several European clubs, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 23-year-old was understood to be available on the transfer market after Chelsea agreed a fee to sign Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana and drew strong interest from several teams abroad, including AC Milan, Inter Milan and RB Leipzig.
However, after internal discussions between Todd Boehly and Thomas Tuchel, the club has decided to block any move for their academy graduate this summer.
The impending arrival of Fofana is thought to have threatened Chalobah’s place in the team, especially with club captain Cesar Azpilicueta extending his contract with Chelsea for two more years.
However, he is now set to stay at Stamford Bridge this season.
While Chalobah may not be a first-team regular at Chelsea, the young Englishman will provide reliable cover in defence for the Blues.

Chalobah enjoyed a breakthrough campaign for Chelsea last season after scoring on his Premier League debut against Crystal Palace on the opening day.
He went on to make 31 appearances for Thomas Tuchel’s side scoring four goals and assisting two, including a goal against Juventus in his Champions League debut.
Chalobah is a raw talent and is far from the finished article, but he has proven to be a solid and reliable option in defence.
Despite the array of defensive talents Chelsea possess, especially with Fofana coming in, he will get his chance to follow up on his impressive debut campaign as there are a lot of games to be played this season.
Chalobah was forced to settle for a place on the bench in the Blues’ first three Premier League games but was called to action against Leicester in place of the suspended Kalidou Koulibaly.
He put on a strong show as ten-men Chelsea saw off the wasteful Foxes 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are yet to lose a game in which Chalobah has started recording 14 wins and four draws from 18 matches.
