Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a double swoop for Ajax forward Antony and PSV Eindhoven winger Cody Gakpo.
Erik ten Hag is in the market for attacking reinforcements, and it has been widely reported that his former protege Antony remains his top target.
Fabrizio Romano recently reported that the Brazilian winger has handed in a transfer request to the Amsterdam giants as he wants to reunite with Ten Hag at Old Trafford.
Antony, who skipped the training sessions on Friday and Saturday, was left out of the squad for the Eredivisie fixture against Sparta Rotterdam.
The former Sao Paulo star also wants Ajax to lower their valuation, with Man Utd having an offer worth €80 million turned down by the Dutch giants.
Romano also added that Gakpo is the alternative option if Antony fails to secure his dream transfer to Old Trafford.
However, according to a new report from De Telegraaf, United are looking to sign both youngsters.
The Red Devils will know in the coming days whether signing Antony is a realistic option.
The 22-year-old has continued his excellent form this season, netting a goal and two assists in two league appearances for Alfred Schreuder’s side.
Gakpo is also one of the hottest prospects in Europe, having racked up two goals and an assist in two games.
The Dutch winger is well aware of the interest from Man Utd, but he is currently focused on the Champions League qualifiers fixture against Rangers.
PSV will host the Gers in the second leg of the play-offs on Wednesday, with the aggregate score standing at 2-2.
Antony and Gakpo would be a much-needed upgrade to what looks to be a weak United attack.
Ten Hag is off to the worst possible start to his managerial stint with the Red Devils, losing the first two Premier League games against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford.
United are now set to speed up the work regarding Antony’s deal after securing the services of Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro.
