Everton in talks to sign Chelsea’s Batshuayi, Real Madrid show interest in Timo Werner

Michy Batshuayi leaves the ball for Timo Werner to smash home in their friendly preseason game

Everton are negotiating with Chelsea over the permanent transfer of Michy Batshuayi, according to

The Belgian international has one year left on his contract with Chelsea, and Everton could take advantage of the situation to add some competition for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Batshuayi signed for Chelsea from Marseille in 2016 but has become a journeyman after failing to nail down a starting spot.

He has gone on loan to Borussia Dortmund, Valencia, Crystal Palace and Besiktas.

Batshuayi had a decent campaign in Turkey, netting 14 goals and assisting five more in 33 Super Lig games.

Frank Lampard is looking to bolster his squad and has turned to his former player. Lampard gave Batshuayi a chance at Chelsea in the 2019/20 season. He made 16 league appearances that campaign.

The 28-year-old is not in Thomas Tuchel’s plans for the season ahead. Chelsea could cash in on the player they paid £35 million for.

Real Madrid want to take Chelsea striker Timo Werner on loan

Real Madrid show interest in Timo Werner

Real Madrid want to take Chelsea struggling attacker Timo Werner on a season-long loan, according to Defensa Central

Los Blancos have only Karim Benzema and the oft-injured Mariano Diaz in the striker department. They need to add some backup firepower for Benzema as they look to defend their La Liga and Champions League titles.

Werner will also be interested in rebuilding his reputation in a different environment after his failed move to Chelsea from RB Leipzig.

He has scored a measly 23 goals in 89 appearances since arriving at Stamford Bridge. The German striker scored 93 in 158 appearances for Leipzig.

Werner could benefit from a change of environment and Carlo Ancelotti, a boss known for improving his attackers.

A return to Leipzig could also be another possibility for the 26-year-old. He does not feature in Tuchel’s plans for the new season.

The Blues have added Raheem Sterling to their forward line and could bring in another attacker before the transfer window closes.

Werner will be looking to find some game time in a team that will have some trust in him.
