Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham has been subject to transfer interest from European giants, including Liverpool; however, the German giants consider him untouchable this summer.
Jurgen Klopp also recently ruled out a potential move for Bellingham, insisting the Reds are not looking to sign another midfielder.
Fabrizio Romano has now revealed an interesting piece of information that the Merseysiders contacted Dortmund to enquire about the prodigious English midfielder last month but to no avail.
However, the Merseysiders would try to go again after Bellingham next summer when he is expected to be among the in-demand players in Europe.
At the age of 19, Bellingham is currently one of the best young talents in Europe after enjoying a quick rise to prominence at Dortmund.
Considered the future of the Three Lions national team, Bellingham had a spectacular 2021/22 campaign, netting six goals and 14 assists across all competitions for Dortmund.
Earlier, the former Birmingham City teenager stated that he is only focused on his future with Die Borussen, who want to keep hold of him after losing Erling Braut Haaland to Manchester City.
Dortmund believe Bellingham’s presence will be key in the Bundesliga title challenge next season.
Elsewhere, Liverpool might be looking for a marquee signing in the midfield next summer after missing out on Aurelien Tchouameni, who recently joined Real Madrid in a deal worth around €100 million.
Los Blancos are likely to get in the way of the Reds again as they are keeping close tabs on Bellingham’s situation, with reports claiming they are leading the race.
Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea have also been registered with an interest in Bellingham, who could spark a transfer war next summer.
Klopp’s side have added Darwin Nunez, Calvin Ramsay and Fabio Carvalho to their squad this summer.
