West Ham United submit £25m bid for Chelsea striker Armando Broja

West Ham United have tabled an offer worth £25 million plus £5m in add-ons for Chelsea striker Armando Broja, reports the Guardian.

The Hammers are in the market for a new striker as David Moyes is looking to reduce the workload of Michail Antonio, the club’s only recognised centre-forward.

Broja is reportedly highly on the wish list, while Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca has been heavily linked with a move to the London Stadium, with reports claiming that Hammers have overtaken Paris Saint-Germain in the race.

Broja has returned to Stamford Bridge after an impressive loan spell with Southampton last term, netting nine goals in all competitions.

Aside from West Ham, the 20-year-old has also caught the attention of clubs like Everton, Newcastle United and Napoli.

However, there is a big sticking point in the pursuit as Thomas Tuchel could opt to keep him at Stamford Bridge next season due to the lack of options in the striker position, with Romelu Lukaku completing his return to Inter Milan on loan.

Furthermore, Tuchel has recently ended the exit speculations of Broja, insisting that the latter is not for sale.

The German gaffer said (h/t Fabrizio Romano): “Armando Broja’s our player first of all, and as of now we have no interest in selling him. He’s here to make an impression.”

The Hammers are now waiting to hear for the final decision from the Blues, and in the meantime, they are also working on a deal to sign Lille midfielder Amadou Onana, having submitted an offer of around €38m.

Hammers have already signed Nayef Aguerd from Rennes in a deal worth £30m.
