Cristiano Ronaldo approached by an unnamed Saudi club

Cristiano Ronaldo’s future continues to be the subject of heavy speculation as he is reportedly keen on leaving Manchester United this summer.

Although Erik ten Hag insists that the Portuguese star will be part of his plans next season, his agent Jorge Mendes is actively on the lookout for new suitors.

While top European clubs have been reportedly keeping tabs on the 37-year-old, an unnamed club from Saudi Arabia have emerged as a surprise contender.

According to a report from CNN Portugal (h/t the Daily Express), the anonymous club have approached Ronaldo with an eye-watering offer over a potential summer move.

They are willing to offer Ronaldo a two-year deal with an astonishing salary of £210 million, fivefold the wages he is currently earning with the Red Devils.

The Saudi outfit are ready to pay United a transfer fee of around £30m in addition to an agent fee of £20m, which could potentially raise the total package to around £250m.

While Kylian Mbappe is believed to be the highest-paid player after signing a new deal with Paris Saint-Germain, his childhood idol Ronaldo could eclipse him should he agree to join the Saudi outfit.

However, it remains to be seen whether the former Real Madrid star would be ready to budge on his desire to play in the Champions League – the real reason why he is forcing an exit from Old Trafford in the first place.

Chelsea have been touted as potential suitors for Ronaldo after Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have withdrawn from the race.
