Torino president names Gleison Bremer price tag amid Inter Milan talks

Torino bigwig Urbano Cairo has outlined Gleison Bremer’s potential price tag amid growing speculation linking the Brazilian with Inter Milan.

Last season’s Serie A runners-up are on the verge of selling their long-serving defensive mainstay Milan Skriniar to Paris Saint-Germain for €70m.

Since the Slovak’s move to Ligue 1 is only a matter of formality after the parties reached a ‘verbal agreement,’ the Nerazzurri are in the market for a new central defender.

Bremer, voted the best centre-back in Serie A last term, has emerged as Inter’s number one priority to replace Skirniar at Giuseppe Meazza.

However, Cairo, known as a tough negotiator, won’t let his most prized asset depart the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino unless a significant offer comes to his desk.

In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, the Torino president insisted it would take north of Skiriniar’s price tag to take the 25-year-old away from Turin.

“If with all due respect to Skriniar, who is two years older, there are offers of €70 million, then Bremer is worth more,” Cairo said.

“Bremer is an amazing guy, and I told him that if a proper offer arrives, I will sell him.”

Cairo’s recent words are not what Inter would want to hear, as they have yet to overcome a financial crisis that has been tormenting the club over the past couple of years.

Skriniar’s switch to Paris should help the Nerazzurri balance their books and allow them to comply with Financial Fair Play, meaning they cannot use those funds to finance Bremer’s deal.

That could open the backdoor to Juventus, who are also on the lookout for a new centre-back, particularly in light of Matthijs de Ligt’s potential move to Bayern Munich.
