Levi Colwill wanted by Arsenal and Leicester City

Having caught the eye on loan at Huddersfield Town, Chelsea defender Levi Colwill is attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Leicester City, according to GOAL.

Per the report, Crystal Palace, Southampton and Brighton are also keen to snap the 19-year-old up in the upcoming transfer window.

It is believed that scouts from aforementioned top flight clubs will be in attendance for the Championship play-off final at Wembley between Huddersfield and Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.

Colwill had previously been linked with a move to Goodison Park with Everton manager Frank Lampard in search of defensive reinforcement this summer.

The Blues academy graduate is looking to play in the English top-flight next season off the back of what has been a breakout year at The John Smith’s Stadium.

“I think I’m ready,” Colwill told The Athletic earlier this month.

“I’ve learnt a lot this year so the next step I hope will be in the Premier League with Chelsea, Huddersfield or whoever.

“I’ve improved my defensive side a lot, I’m winning more headers and being more aggressive.

“When I was playing for Chelsea’s under-23s, I wasn’t as much of an aerial threat but now I can win headers, and I can challenge more.

“I still have a lot to improve and I’ll always look to improve.”

A recall to Stamford Bridge could be on the cards for Colwill with the west Londoners currently short of options at the back following the exits of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen to La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.

However, with Chelsea set to be active in the transfer market once again following their recent takeover, Thomas Tuchel will be expected to delve into the market for defensive acquisitions which would dampen Colwill’s chances of regular first-team football next season.
