Lewandowski’s agent claims Bayern Munich are history, hints at Barcelona move

Robert Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi has claimed that Bayern Munich are history for his client.

Lewandowski is reportedly keen on securing an exit from Allianz Arena this summer, with Barcelona as the preferred destination.

However, Bayern want to keep him until the end of the next season when his current deal expires.

Zahavi has now opened up about the contract situation, stating that Lewandowski has no intention of staying at Bayern and instead would try to seal a transfer to his dream club Barca.

He also attributed Bayern’s late interest in Erling Braut Haaland as one of the main reasons for the latter to consider a move away from Bavaria.

Zahavi told BILD ( h/t Barca Blaugranes): “For Lewandowski, Bayern are history.

“Robert has the chance to move to the club he has always dreamt of.

“Of course you can keep Robert for another year, to be fair he has a contract until 2023, but I wouldn’t recommend that to you.

“[He is a] very intelligent person, not just the best striker in the world. He knows exactly what is happening around him and what FC Bayern had planned.

“So Robert knew all along that Bayern wanted to replace him with Haaland.”

Fabrizio Romano reports that the Polish striker is only thinking of a move to Camp Nou despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea.

The Catalan giants are also said to have submitted their first offer to the Bundesliga champions, which is around €30 million.

Blaugrana manager Xavi wants to have Lewandowski, who has won the European Golden Boot for the second consecutive season, as a central figure for his project.

Meanwhile, the Bavarians are not intending to sell him before signing a replacement. Sadio Mane, Sebastien Haller and Sasa Kalajdzic are amongst the names on the table.
