Robert Lewandowski’s agent meets with Barcelona

Barcelona are inching closer to signing Robert Lewandowksi as reliable journalist Gerard Romero reports that the Polish striker’s agent Pini Zahavi has met with the Catalan club.

Lewandowski is apparently on the verge of leaving Bayern Munich after revealing that he is not interested in signing a contract extension, with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2023.

Although the Bavarians remain confident in keeping hold of the 33-year-old, he is expected to force out an exit this summer.

Despite interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, Lewandowksi is reportedly keen on joining the Catalan giants.

Blaugrana manager Xavi is said to have contacted the Pole to convince him to move to Camp Nou and be a key figure in his project.

Romero also adds that Zahavi has bought around ten Barca shirts from the official store with his client’s name on them, which has further fuelled the speculations.

The former Borussia Dortmund star is also said to be ready to take a significant pay cut to facilitate a move to Camp Nou.

Barca are expected to open talks with Bundesliga champions soon regarding the signing of Lewandowski, and they are reportedly readying an offer of around €30 million.

It appears to be enough to lure the prolific striker to Catalonia since he will enter the final year of his contract at Allianz Arena.

Lewandowski believes that he can fancy himself to win the elusive Ballon d’Or upon joining the Catalan giants.

Similarly, Barca are hopeful of challenging at all fronts with a marquee addition like the Polish international.
