Juventus and Inter Milan battle for free transfer of Boubacar Kamara

Serie A heavyweights Juventus and Inter Milan are set to battle out for Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara, as per a report from Calciomercato.

The 22-year-old is one of the sought-after youngsters in Europe, with his contract expiring this summer.

Kamara has been with Marseille all his career, making 166 appearances with the first team.

Having not represented the French senior team, Kamara has been tipped for that opportunity following an impressive 2021/22 season, where he has been a vital cog in Jorge Sampaoli’s side, who have been a revelation in Ligue 1 this season and are currently second behind champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Juve are in the market for midfield reinforcements, with the futures of Adrien Rabiot and Arthur Melo hanging in the balance following a lacklustre Serie A campaign this term.

With their midfield targets Paul Pogba and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic looking out of their reach, the Old Lady are looking to snap up a cheaper yet productive alternative in Kamara.

The Bianconeri are also reportedly keeping tabs on talented Bologna midfielder Mattias Svanberg, who is likely to cost as low as €20 million.

However, the Bianconeri have to fend off their rivals Inter, who have also shown interest in the French midfielder.

The Italian champions have recently tied Marcelo Brozovic to a new deal, but they still want to fortify the options in the middle of the park.

Besides, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are also in contention, which implies that there could be a tug of war for Kamara in the summer.
