Tchouameni has caught the eye this term with Monaco as they sit fourth in the Ligue 1 table, level on points with third-place Stade de Rennes with just four games left to play.
His superb performances have seen him linked with an exit from the Stade Louis II with Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Liverpool all thought to be keen on a move.
Per Marca, Tchouameni would favour a move to the Premier League which still leaves four of the aforementioned five teams with a good chance of landing the midfielder.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are now looking to jump to the front of the queue by making an approach for Tchouameni, who is reportedly admired by the manager himself.
The 22-year-old could follow in the footsteps of Fabinho Tavares, who made a switch to Liverpool from Monaco back in 2018 and has proven to be a fantastic signing.
Despite Tchouameni’s contract with the Monegasques expiring in 2024, Monaco are widely expected to part ways with the Frenchman in the upcoming transfer market for a fee north of €50million.
Jordan Henderson and James Milner are now in their 30s, so Liverpool are seeking long-term additions in the centre of the park and Tchoaumeni would fit the bill perfectly.
In the meantime, the English giants have their sights set on tonight’s semi-final first-leg meeting against Villareal with the winner due to take on one of Man City or Real Madrid in next month’s grand finale.
