Antonio Conte linked with a shock move to Paris Saint-Germain

Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte has emerged as a surprise candidate for the managerial position at Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Le Parisien, the Italian boss is confident of succeeding Mauricio Pochettino as PSG’s new manager in the summer at Parc des Princes.

Les Parisiens are said to be looking to replace the Argentine gaffer, who has been criticised for a dismal Champions League campaign, where the French giants fell short against Real Madrid in the round of 16.

The Ligue 1 giants are eyeing a top-quality manager who can lead them to a long evading UCL glory.

Zinedine Zidane has long been rumoured about a move to the French capital, but the former Real Madrid gaffer prefers a job with the national team.

Conte’s links come as a surprise when he appears to have bedded in well at Spurs while also winning the trust of the fans.

Taking up the job in November, the Italian gaffer has done an impressive work, with the Lily Whites currently fourth in the Premier League table and well placed to qualify for the Champions League.

The former Inter boss is also reportedly planning for the summer with his long-time friend and sporting director Fabio Paratici, with as many as six targets being identified.

It certainly indicates that Conte wants to build a competitive squad with Spurs and challenge for the trophies next season.

While Conte is no stranger to changing clubs often – the most recent instance was his departure from Inter after a disagreement over the transfer dealings, it looks highly unlikely that he would leave Spurs in the summer.
