Tottenham transfer news: Dybala contact made, Asensio offered, Emerson Royal asking price set

Having watched Arsenal and Manchester United slip up in the race for the top four, Tottenham Hotspur forged ahead with a resounding 4-0 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday evening.

Antonio Conte’s men currently sit three points clear in fourth place and are now favourites to secure a return to the Champions League next season.

The Lilywhites have a big summer window ahead of them and here is the latest Tottenham transfer news to keep abreast of:

Spurs make Dybala contact

Tottenham have made contact with Juventus attacker Paulo Dybala over a possible move in the summer, reports’s Romeo Agresti (h/t Max Statman).

Dybala is set to leave the Old Lady after both parties failed to reach an agreement over a contract extension and Tottenham now seek to snap him up as a free agent.

‘La Joya’ has recorded 13 goals and nine assists across all competitions this term for Il Bianconeri, who are five points off the top of the Serie A table.

With both Milan clubs as well as Atletico Madrid also linked with a move for the Argentine, securing Champions League football will be key to Spurs’ chances of luring him to North London.

Asensio offered to Spurs

Marco Asensio has been offered to Tottenham as the Spaniard prepares to leave Real Madrid, per The Sunday Mirror (10 April, page 73) via HITC.

Los Blancos are claimed to be holding out for a fee in the region of €30million to ship the winger out of Santiago Bernabeu.

However, it is highly unlikely that Spurs pursue a move given that they are prepared to permanently sign on-loan Dejan Kuluvsevski off the back of his impressive displays since arriving back in January.

This could hand Arsenal a free run at landing Asensio with the Gunners also thought to be in the running for his signature.

Spurs willing to let go of Emerson Royal for €25m

Tottenham are ready to part ways with Emerson Royal if their asking price of €25m is met, according to Fichajes.

Antonio Conte is reportedly not a big fan of the Brazilian and wants to move him on ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

Atletico Madrid are the front-runners to acquire Emerson’s services as Diego Simeone looks to replace the recently-departed Kieran Trippier.

While speaking to Cadena SER, the 23-year-old confirmed the interest from Los Colchoneros: “Yes, it has come to my attention that Atletico are interested in me but now, I’m in a good moment at Tottenham.”
