Liverpool are set for a highly-defining week in the course of their season with two crucial games against Manchester City either side of the conclusion of their Champions League tie against Benfica.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are still gunning for a quadruple having already tasted Carabao cup success courtesy of a penalty-shootout victory over Chelsea at Wembley back in February.
The Reds failed to sign anyone during the last summer window but that is set to change this time around. Without further ado, here are some of the Liverpool transfer news that are gathering pace of late:
Carvalho is a done deal
Liverpool have completed the signing of 19-year-old Fulham starlet Fabio Carvalho, reports the reliable Fabrizio Romano.
An initial fee of £5million will be paid for the attacker with add-ons of £2.7m, while a sell-on clause has also been included in the deal.
Liverpool were keen to bring Carvalho to Anfield during the January window but failed to complete the necessary paperwork in time before the transfer deadline.
The Portuguese has racked up seven goals and as many assists for Fulham in the Championship this term as the runaway leaders close in on a return to the Premier League.
Added competition for Bellingham
Manchester United are looking to bring Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham to Old Trafford, per the Evening Standard.
Liverpool are thought to be leading the race to snap up the English prodigy but United’s interest could now throw a spanner in the works.
The Red Devils have been reportedly asked to sign Bellingham on the request of the incoming Erik ten Hag, who is set to take the reins at Old Trafford.
The Santiago Bernabeu is also a potential destination for the midfielder but any move by the Spanish giants is likely to wait until 2023.
Liverpool to step up Ismaila Sarr chase
Liverpool are expected to intensify their efforts to bring Ismaila Sarr to the red half of Merseyside, according to Milan Live.
Sarr has been eyed by Jurgen Klopp for some time now and his agent Thierno Seydi recently revealed that the Senegalese winger could leave in the summer.
“We have a good exit plan. In Watford’s strategy, if the offer is attractive, nothing will prevent him from leaving but where he will go, only the future will tell us.
“At this precise moment, there are rumours, interest, but really nothing concrete.”
