Inter Milan eyeing loan move to re-sign Romelu Lukaku

Inter Milan are weighing up their options to facilitate the return of Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, as per a report from Calciomercato.

The Belgian left San Siro last summer in order to join his former club Chelsea in a record-breaking £97.5 million transfer.

However, his second spell at Stamford Bridge is turning out to be a disaster, as he has hardly made an impact.

Finding the nets only five times, Lukaku has obviously struggled to adapt to the Premier League and failed to replicate the blistering form he enjoyed at Inter that eventually caught the attention of the Blues.

Lukaku is said to be desperate to end his torrid spell and return to San Siro this summer, as he made his feelings clear about representing the Nerazzurri again in a controversial interview earlier this season.

In the aftermath of that speech, the 28-year-old was dropped for a league game against Liverpool, but he eventually apologized to the Blues fans for his action.

While Inter are unlikely to afford Lukaku’s valuation to re-sign him, they are plotting an initial loan move this summer.

Lukaku scored an astonishing 24 goals and provided 11 assists under Antonio Conte last season, eventually helping Inter lift the Serie A title after a decade.

Edin Dzeko was brought as his replacement, and although he has been impressive this season, he couldn’t match the Belgian’s numbers and as does Lautaro Martinez.

Inter have also shortlisted Gianluca Scamacca of Sassuolo and Juventus ace Paulo Dybala as potential targets for the summer.
