Arsenal are prepared to extend Bukayo Saka’s contract off the back of a what has been a stellar individual season, reports Fabrizio Romano.
Saka is still contracted until 2024 but the Gunners are keen to tie down their star winger even further with an offer expected to be made at the end of the current campaign.
In the meantime, Saka and Arsenal are focused on securing a return to the Champions League for the first time since 2017.
Romano had earlier reported that Saka was attracting a lot of interest from top clubs all around Europe and it is not hard to see why.
The 20-year-old is on course for a second consecutive Player of the Season award having racked up 10 goals and five assists in 33 outings across all competitions so far.
Just before the international break, Saka scored the only goal of the game as Mikel Arteta’s men edged out Aston Villa in a crucial 1-0 win.
Arsenal remain fourth in the Premier League table, three and four points clear of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United respectively with a game in hand.
Saka joined the North Londoners at the age of seven before working his way up to the first team four years ago and establishing himself as a mainstay ever since.
Alongside Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe, the England international has formed an excellent supporting cast in attack at the Emirates Stadium, although Arsenal are keen to sign a new striker in the summer.
